Understanding Unit Of Measure
What are Unit Of Measure?
Unit of Measure (UOM) is a way of defining the quantity or measurement of an item, it helps delineate the different way items can be stored and shipped from a warehouse. The standard item UOM is typical Each with a Factor of 1.
For example: An item may have multiple UOMS, it may be a Pallet (Factor 96), Carton (Factor 12) & Each (Factor 1).
Accessing Unit of Measure
Within the Navigation menu, click on the search bar and type ''Unit of Measure'' and click on "Unit of Measure". Unit of Measure is also in Configuration, under Functional Area Setup > Inventory Control Setup > Unit of Measure.
Adding a Unit of Measure
Click on the Red Action Button, this will bring up a drop-down menu, and select "Add"
Enter in Mandatory Fields
Enter or select the following
- The Name
- Description
Ensure that the Active check box is checked so that it will appear in the system. If unchecked, it won't be seen.
Once you have selected and entered the required fields, click on the submit button to add.
