The Allocation Assignment Master in Canary7 allows you to control which Allocation Rule is applied to a shipment by evaluating a set of dynamic criteria. This ensures the right Allocation Strategy is applied automatically, based on your operational requirements.

This feature plays a critical role in the pre-picking phase, helping you refine allocation behaviour for different customers, carriers, shipment types, and more.

Key Concepts

  • You can configure multiple Allocation Assignment Rules.

  • Each rule checks a set of defined criteria and applies a corresponding Allocation Rule when those criteria are met.

  • Rules are executed as part of aWaveflow, specifically during the Allocation step, before picking jobs are created.

Tabs Overview

  1. General Tab

  • Name: Give the rule a descriptive name.

  • Active: Tick this box to activate the rule in Canary7.

  1. Allocation Tab

  • Allocation Rule: Select one of your pre-built Allocation Rules to assign when the conditions in the next tab are met.

📝 Note: Allocation Rules must already exist in your system before linking them here.

  1. Criteria Tab

Use this tab to build the logic that determines when this allocation rule should apply.

  • Criteria use the standard Column / Operator / Value setup.

  • You can create multi-criteria conditions to refine when an Allocation Rule is used.

  • Warehouse ID

  • Item Category

  • Customer Code

  • Shipment Number

  • Shipment Type
