📦 Suggested Container on Receiving

🔍 Feature Overview

The Suggested Container feature is an optional setting within a Receiving Profile that enables Canary7 to recommend an existing container for received items, based on:

  • The same Location Job Zone

  • The same user who is currently receiving

Canary7 runs a locating check, and if suitable, suggests a pre-existing Putaway Container for items that are destined for the same zone — helping reduce duplication and improve efficiency.

⚠️ Note: This feature is only available when using Receiving Profiles with:

  • Manual License Plate Assignment

  • Check-In and Locate enabled

💡 Why Use Suggested Container?

🚀 Increased Efficiency

  • Consolidates items by zone, reducing unnecessary container creation

  • Minimises handling time — operatives can focus on putaway, not sorting

⚡ Faster Putaway Process

  • Enables operatives to deliver multiple items to the same zone in one trip

  • Optimises travel paths and reduces warehouse congestion

📐 Better Space Utilisation

  • Encourages efficient packing of containers, reducing unused space

  • Helps maintain a tidy and logical warehouse layout

✅ Fewer Errors

  • Reduces the risk of misplacing items — all items in the container belong to the same zone

  • Improves inventory accuracy and traceability

👷 Improved Operative Productivity

  • Cuts down on back-and-forth movement between zones

  • Keeps operatives focused in a single area for longer periods

💰 Lower Operational Costs

  • Less travel time means less fuel and wear on equipment

  • Increased job speed leads to better labour cost efficiency
